Pudding in Portland

As many of you will have seen from my previous post, we spent my birthday (last Monday) in Weymouth.

By 4 o'clock we had finished mooching around the shops, beaches and harbour and decided to extend the day by visiting Portland Bill.

I had the option to eat out for tea, but being the cheapskate that I am and the fact we'd had a massive lunch, I opted for picking up some sandwiches and having a picnic. Being the spontaneous family that we are, we also decided that we needed pudding, with lots and lots of chocolate on it. I picked profiteroles, mum had tiramisu and dad had chocolate éclairs.
We munched though our sandwiches and chocolate deserts, with a view out over the sea and Portland Bill lighthouse. After we were yet again full, we started to explore more of the headland, with another impromptu photo shoot.
After we decided it was too cold for standing on a cliff, we headed to a view point a few miles inland. From this point you could see the whole of Weymouth and also Chesil Beach, which is really interesting geographically.  At this view point there is a sculpture of the Olympic rings, as this was the center for the Sailing way back in 2012. These rings also make for great photo opportunities!
We then started the 2 hours car journey home, for more cake and a film.
